It’s not a figment of your imagination, it’s as real as the weight on your bathroom scale.

When we experience stress, our bodies release a hormone called cortisol.

Cortisol is often referred to as the “stress hormone” because it helps the body respond to stress.

However, prolonged high levels of cortisol can lead to various health problems, including weight gain.

One of the main ways that cortisol contributes to weight gain is by increasing appetite.

When cortisol levels are high, we may find ourselves craving sugary, high-calorie foods.

This is because cortisol triggers the release of glucose in the body, which gives you a burst of energy but can also lead to cravings for unhealthy foods.

So, what can you do to manage stress and prevent weight gain?

Here are some practical tips:

1) Practice relaxation techniques, such as deep breathing, meditation, or yoga. 

These activities can help lower cortisol levels and reduce stress.

2) Get regular exercise

Exercise not only helps burn calories but also helps reduce stress and improve mood.

3) Prioritize healthy eating habits, such as eating a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein. 

Avoid processed foods, sugary drinks, and excessive amounts of caffeine.

There is no one recipe good for everybody.
